CONGRATULATIONS SOQUEL HIGH BASEBALL TEAM! The Soquel High Baseball Team won their first CCS playoff game, beating Thomas More 6-1 Wednesday afternoon. Robbie Dice pitched two innings and Cedar Morgan pitched five, and both had hot bats. Cedar's hit in the bottom of the fourth inning gave Soquel the go-ahead run, and Robbie blasted a home run over the left field fence. The Knights play #2 ranked Menlo in the CCS Quarter Finals at 7 p.m. Friday at Washington Park in Santa Clara. |

May 9th Golf Tournament
Thanks to everyone who played, sponsored or donated to our golf tourney! We had a great group of players, many being Soquel High Alumni, and had a fabulous afternoon with the added benefit of raising money for programs at Soquel High.
The tournament winners were:

1st Place - Jay Glietsmann, Jeff Newkirk, Ken Dyer, and Sean Dyer with a 14 under

2nd Place - Dan Johnson, Tom Sanders, Robert Eberle, and Jeff Roberts also with a 14 under (lost the tie-breaker)

3rd Place - Mike Stewart, Ken Sluiter, Garry Larrabee, and Billy Patterson with a 13 under

HELP WANTED
SOCA Sharks Football- We would really appreciate if you could volunteer to work a shift at the snack bar on Sat, May 17th! Game time is 1:30pm. Volunteers may work shifts from 12-2pm, 1-3pm or 2-4pm. Call Kathy if you can help at 831-475-8884-evening or 831-439-2441-day.
The upcoming Staff Appreciation Lunch will be on Tuesday, June 3rd. We're looking for food donations like: breads, luncheon meats and cheeses, quiches, salads of all kinds, desserts like cookies, cakes, and fruit.

The Santa Cruz Education Foundation is hosting the River Arts Festival in San Lorenzo Park, May 17-18. This event celebrates and supports our schools by bringing together our arts community, families and visitors to Santa Cruz in a two-day festival. With 75 juried artists, art installations, musical performances, food and so much more, the River Arts Festival promises to be a memorable event.
Because the event is for and about schools, we would appreciate your help in promotion. Flyers will be copied and distributed to all school sites. You can help by sending an announcement and the attached flyers to your e-lists and posting a notice on your school websites. Thank you for helping us to help you!
