HOW TO HELP
Teacher wish lists were sent out via email last week.  Our faculty at Soquel would greatly
appreciate any donation from their wish lists in order for them to better serve our
students. Please take a moment to look at the wish lists and participate by buying at least
one item off the lists for your student’s teacher/teachers.  Thank you!

Thank you to all who donated reams of paper.  Thirty boxes were donated on back to school
night through Palace Arts.  The office uses 1 box of paper a day, so the donations were

FAMILY NEEDED FOR EXCHANGE STUDENT

Torbjoern, "Toby," Yttersian, a nice 17-year-old boy, is an exchange student and a junior
this year at Soquel High from Norway. He's living temporarily with a "welcome family" with
two young children, and representatives from his exchange program, Aspect Foundation, are
seeking a permanent host family. Toby would enjoy living with a family with kids closer to
his own age, and he'll be here until mid-June.  He's doing well in his classes and is
playing waterpolo. A host family voluntarily provides room (he can share a bedroom), meals,
and transportation to and from school. Toby has his own spending money and health
insurance.

Would you like your family to learn firsthand about another country/culture?  Would you
like to make a lifelong friend with an international student?  Would you enjoy sharing your
family life with Toby?  Hosting an exchange student is an outstanding opportunity for an
entire family!  Please call or email Valerie Peet if you'd like to discuss the possibility
of hosting Toby.  You can reach Valerie at 464-7526 or at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
