GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Blue and Gold Café – We will be closed TODAY, Monday 3/1.

Grading Period – This Friday 3/5 will be the end of the current six-week grading period.

Budget Cuts – Upcoming cuts are threatening Soquel High and you individually.  Come to a meeting today Monday 3/1 at Lunch in the MU room to learn how you can help.

Infinite Campus – Make sure you are checking Infinite Campus for your attendance.  If you neglect to check it, you will be unable to make corrections after three days, and you will have to live with the outcome.  See Ms. Britton or Mr. LaBarre in the Library if you need help with your account.

Grad Night – Tickets will be going on sale each first and third Friday during Brunch and Lunch in the First Quad.  Don’t delay.  Purchase your ticket now.  The price is now $125 through 5/31.  **Limited number of full and partial scholarship will be available.

Front Office Aides – Anyone interested in helping out in the Front Office, there are still a few openings left…specifically A2 and A3.  If you have good attendance, no behavior referrals, and grades of As and Bs only, please stop by and see Cheryl.  She’d love to have you sign up.

Tax time – H&R Block has provided a few discount coupons for parents of our Soquel High students.  If you are interested in picking one up, please come into the Front Office and get one from Cheryl.  They are for $25 off your 2009 Income Tax preparation.  Then…H&R Block will give back $25 to Soquel High School!!

Seniors – FAFSA deadline is tomorrow Tuesday March 2, 2010.  If you miss the priority deadline, still apply!  Apply now!  See your Counselor if you have any questions.  Workshops will be held at Cabrillo College.  See the Cabrillo College website financial aide section for details of what to bring with you.  Workshop will be held today Monday, 3/1 from 12-6p at Cabrillo Aptos Campus SAC West Room 201.  No appointment necessary!

Yearbook – Salutations fellow Knights.  Do you want a yearbook this year?  Better hurry up and order one.  They will sell out and if you take too long to buy, you might cry!

Clubs

Key Club – Come to Key Club meetings Tuesdays at Brunch in Ms. Alaimo’s Room 211.  New and old members are welcome!

LUCHA – Today Monday 3/1 starts Haiti Relief and Awareness Month!  We kick off with the Soccer Tournament – ha ha ha, “kick off” – today at Lunch (12:30p sharp) in the Gym.  Come see the “Teachers and the Tech” vs “For Haiti” (Lower Gym) and “SC United” vs “Style High Club” (Upper Gym).  Tickets are $2 per day and a weekly pass is $5 which you can get from Sr. Dahlen in Room 222 RIGHT NOW!  All proceeds goes to Red Cross for Haiti Relief.  So come see the Teachers and the Tech battle (Ms Wiles, Mr. Levy, Mrs. Candau, Mrs. Dawson, Mr. Chanda, Mr. Rovick, Ms. Moore, Mrs. Keplinger, Sr. Dahlen, AND Peter the Tech)!
