GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS Infinite Campus – Make sure you are checking Infinite Campus for your attendance. If you neglect to check it, you will be unable to make corrections after three days, and you will have to live with the outcome. See Ms. Britton or Mr. LaBarre in the Library if you need help with your account. Auditions – FINALLY! Auditions for the fantastic Spring Musical will be in the next two weeks! It is Rogers & Hammerstein’s CAROUSEL! You will need to prepare a song, read, and dance. Plus, you get academic credit if you are cast or work on the Technical Staff! See Mrs. Kline for more information! Stay tuned for updates. Grad Night – Tickets will be going on sale each first and third Friday during Brunch and Lunch in the First Quad. Don’t delay. Pre-purchase your ticket now and save! Early-order ticket price is $100 through this Sunday 2/28, then the price will go up to $125 from 3/1-5/31. **Limited number of full and partial scholarship will be available. Grad Night Fundraiser – Come to CAVA in the Capitola Village tomorrow Friday, 2/26 between 12pm and 12am. There will be an auction and raffle from 6-9pm and 10% of all proceeds will go to Grad Night. Adults only. Come support our Seniors! Front Office Aides – Anyone interested in helping out in the Front Office, there are still a few openings left…specifically A2 and A3. If you have good attendance, no behavior referrals, and grades of As and Bs only, please stop by and see Cheryl. She’d love to have you sign up. Tax time – H&R Block has provided a few discount coupons for parents of our Soquel High students. If you are interested in picking one up, please come into the Front Office and get one from Cheryl. They are for $25 off your 2009 Income Tax preparation. Then…H&R Block will give back $25 to Soquel High School!! Counseling “Sound Blast” – February is Business and Information Systems Month. Can you get others excited about something you have just learned, like how using worms is great for gardening? Are you a natural cheerleader without a team? You could be perfect as a Public Relations Specialist. You could work with the media, political campaigns, or plan events to educate others. With additional education, your starting salary could begin at $20 an hour. Want more information? Go to www.cacareerzone.com or talk with your Counselor. Career Technical Education. It pays! Seniors planning to attend CSU Monterey Bay – Admitted students can confirm enrollment online or by sending in a check. Students MUST do this in order to secure their place at CSUMB. Students need to pay their $100 deposit to be confirmed. If a student hasn’t paid, they haven’t confirmed. Within a few days of confirming (if not sooner), students will be able to apply for freshman or transfer housing. They cannot apply for housing until they confirm. Seniors – FAFSA deadline is March 2, 2010. If you miss the priority deadline, still apply! Apply now! See your Counselor if you have any questions. Workshops will be held at Cabrillo College. See the Cabrillo College website financial aide section for details of what to bring with you. Workshops will be held tomorrow Friday 2/26 from 12-5pm in Room 4550 at the Cabrillo Watsonville Center AND on Monday, 3/1 from 12-6p at Cabrillo Aptos Campus SAC West Room 201.
